A booking photo can remain part of a criminal justice record after release, but public access is not the same as automatic internet publication. In Sedgwick County, the booking/release record may be held by the sheriff, explained by a Sedgwick Combined Court record, reflected in Colorado VINE while active, or followed by a CDOC record if the person was transferred to state custody. The record may also be affected by juvenile restrictions, sealing, court orders, privacy rules, or custodian discretion.
Colorado law has a specific booking-photo rule. C.R.S. 24-72-305.5 makes it unlawful to obtain a booking photograph knowing it will be posted in a publication or website that requires payment or another exchange for removal. Sheriff Roster, App, and Social Posts

It does not link to a current inmate roster, recent-release photo gallery, 24-hour release list, 72-hour release list, or jail-info mobile app. That absence should be treated as a local finding, not filled with Sedgwick County, Kansas inmate pages.
If the sheriff's Facebook page or another official social channel posts public-safety information, treat it as a notice channel. A social post may show a photo, but it should not be used as the official release record unless it points to the sheriff or court source that created the custody information. Requesting a Booking Photo
Because no county photo feed was found, the sheriff records request is the likely primary local channel for a Sedgwick County booking photograph. Ask for the exact booking record rather than just a picture. Third-Party Sites and News Sources
Third-party mugshot and aggregator sites are a poor release-confirmation source. Always use the sheriff, court, VINE, CDOC, CBI, BOP, or ICE record that actually controls the custody or release question.
Court Records Explain the Photo Context
A booking photo by itself does not explain whether the person was convicted, released on bond, sentenced to time served, transferred, dismissed, placed on probation, or discharged. The Sedgwick Combined Court record is often the best way to understand what happened after booking.
